Anti-Histamine Properties of Mangosteen

Alpha-Mangostin as it is called is an antagonist of histamine H1 receptor. The receptor is where a cell, in this case a histamine cell, fits into another cell to start an immune reaction. When an antagonist receptor is present it can bond with the immune cell and inhibit the histamine from bonding instead.
